On Thursday 16th October 2025, we welcomed our new Suffolk Punch filly foal, Melody of Halstead, to her forever home.

It’s days like this that make all the hard work keeping the Suffolk breed alive worthwhile!!! Tegan and I are now on the way back from a fantastic day in Devon having delivered Melody of Halstead to her new owners Amanda and Gary. We couldn’t ask for a better home for our girl. She now has 3 cows, 10 goats, 14 piglets and 3 Exmoor ponies to keep her company. Not to mention scenery second to none…she has certainly fallen on her feet.

She settled in straight away and made new friends quickly.

On Saturday 1st November, we held a small gathering to welcome her officially to Shoulsbarrow Farm. It’s amazing how much she has grown in only 2 weeks.

By Christmas 2025 she could easily see over the gate and was becoming much stockier.

Still growing in April 2026.
